The ‘Wynwood Noire’ concept came to me one afternoon after one of my daily chats with my sister during her commute home from work. She spent the weekend in Wynwood with friends but kept asking herself “Where my ‘folks’ at?” As Miami Natives who have watched in real time Wynwood evolve from a desolate warehouse district to an internationally renowned Art District we would often find ourselves wondering out loud if Black Culture would continue to be present during these changes?

With that thought in mind I made a commitment to purposely highlight the incredible contributions of African American artists, entrepreneurs, and community members who make Wynwood such a unique and dynamic place.
